Love Tattered cover! A true treasure of a bookstore! I have been making treks to Denver since I was a kid to visit this epic bookstore in its various locations.

This is a really cute bookstore. Feels very cozy, but has plenty of space to offer. Their coffee bar is great. Employees are helpful. They have a pretty wide variety of genres to choose from. They also have really cute little knickknacks if you're in the mood to buy something you don't really need, but is way too cute to pass up.

Amazing staff, and really cool books! I will go again!!

This bookstore is definitely my all time favorite. Feels both like a library and a book store. They always have a great selection of books and the childrens section is always fun. Might I add the small in-house coffee shop is has such delicious teas and coffees. I highly recommend Tattered Cover to anyone.

Amazing Denver institution, helpful staff, good prices and a great little Cafe. Free parking, events, nooks, crannies and character. Shop local, we are fortunate to have a great bookstore like this in Denver!

This place is amazing. The selection is full of fun surprises and familiar favorites. They're very accommodating for events, the staff is friendly, and the cafe always has fun, themed drinks. Highly recommend.

During COVID-19 I ordered some books for my niece's first birthday. When several were backordered, the folks at the Tattered Cover were nice enough to find my several alternatives, and even took the time to read little bits of them so I knew what I was choosing!

What a dream. I could live there. Book reading downstairs, try to stay current with the calendar and attend events, its online and they have calendar in the store. They have cafe coffee is Decent. Great place to buy gifts or have a date.

As this was a bucket list visit (one of my most anticipated bookstore visits), I was predisposed to enjoy my first experience here. However, I would have been impressed even if I hadn’t been hoping to come for years. Unbelievably deep selection in most areas (the periodical section alone blew my mind), multiple seating options, and room to wander for days combine for a great time for the bookstore lover. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and the floorplan of the place is endlessly fascinating. You’ll probably leave with far too many purchases than is reasonable.

Worth a visit! Classic bookstore atmosphere. Tons of selection. Staff seem to care about reading and care about the store. Denver East High School is across the street and the students in the store were very friendly.

This bookstore is amazing! I've been to the Tattered Cover in LoDo, but this was my first visit to their Colfax location. The selection was amazing and the staff were all helpful.

A great book store, with a huge inventory. Great placd to hang out with a cup of coffee, fresh pastry and a new book. This is not a cookie cutter corporate store.

It is immediately obvious why Tattered Cover is Denver's most beloved bookstore. The physical layout of the store is incredibly unique- the stairways and multiple levels make shopping feel like an adventure. What truly struck me was the table of children's books that were centered around LGBT/Pride Month education. Seeing this brought tears to my eyes. This is the inclusion and representation that the community has been longing for. I so greatly wish I had these as a child, but I'm thankful that children now do. This warmed my heart in a way I can't explain. The smallest gestures save lives. Thank you.

This is a great place to read, find a new book, or have a cup of coffee or tea.

A real homey and elegant place with an attentive staff. The recent destruction of the magazine section in favor of greeting cards is a wholly embarrassing move. Despite, they mostly have everything though there are never sales and all books are straight retail value. I hope they stay in business, as it is infinitely cheaper to buy books anywhere else.

This may be the BEST bookstore I've ever been to! Such an awesome selection of books and there are tons of used books in great condition. It used to be a theater and they left some original elements which is fun. It's a very comfortable atmosphere with lots of chairs and the staff are very friendly. I loved it so much I went back the next day - I'd be here all the time if I lived in Denver!

This was my first time in this bookshop and I definitely enjoyed my time there! Wide variety of books and a cool place to have a cup of coffee at their shop inside! Many places to grab a seat and relax while you enjoy your coffee and read a book or take a minute for yourself. Personally, I sat down and read a bit of The Music Theory! This Place got a 5 out of 5 stars in my Book!!!

I've been visiting Tattered Cover for many years, from their Cherry Creek days onward. I always walk out with a stack of good reading -- they're especially strong when it comes to promoting smaller indie publishers, plus they have a great poetry selection. It's the unexpected finds here that are among the real treats -- I still remember how thrilling it was to find a signed copy of one of my favorite Joyce Carol Oates novels at an affordable price.

We LOVE this store! The staff is so kind and the store is also clean. The location is right off the bus line and we can make this a lovely afternoon trip for me and my girls. Thank you! Also, they ordered a graphic novel for my husband and it got there in like one week and they great staff called us as soon as it arrived.

Such a good bookstore with a cozy nook to read in no matter where you turn. The staff is very helpful and if they don't have what you're looking for they'll order it for you.

The Tattered Cover has to be my favorite bookstore. Good coffee, areas for reading, and a nice selection. Boulder Bookstore has the best poetry selection though so go there for that.

Tattered Cover is a great place to buy books both used and new. It’s also a nice place to grab a snack and a drink from the cafe and hang out at one of the many tables and random nooks they have throughout the old theater, which makes it an interesting layout even to just browse through. There’s a cool spot downstairs where they have readings and author talks, a great children’s area as well. A nice place to be!

This was a super interesting place that I confused for the used music store across the sidewalk from it. It’s tucked away behind the music shop and not easily visible.Interesting spot, but not much selection. Very small variety, but lots of stock of books that are popular or reviewed well in mainstream news sources. Nothing interesting or academic here. All popular press authors writing on contemporary topics. Fiction section seems good, and scifi section was impressive. There are few to no used books here. The cafe is larger than expected, with ample seating.

I had a lot of time to look around while I was waiting in line for a book signing with Geddy Lee. Meeting him is a bucket list thing for me. The bookstore is very spacious and warm and I love the old fashion decor. They have a great selection of material covering a wide variety of topics. The staff is quite knowledgeable and friendly. They provide activities including author readings and signings. There is a comfortable area to relax and preview the books you might want to buy. The next time I'm in Denver I plan on spending some time to fully explore all they have to offer.

The best customer service, such a wide selection of books, I only have great things to say! I also ordered several books to be shipped to me during quarantine. They offered to mail the books they had on hand quickly (and for no extra charge) and are sending the rest upon arrival to the store!

This is probably one of my all time favorite book stores. I come here every time I'm in the Denver area. Such a wide selection of books and an amazing staff as well. You'll find anything and everything you could want in this bookstore. An absolute must for bookworms in the Denver area!

Loved walking around here and stopping to read. The atmosphere was just fantastic for a little while readin. I believe it used to be an old small venue theater retro fitted for this book store. So the vibe is really very interesting. The staff were also very helpful and chill.

Great stop and urban respite. I stumbled across this gem while wandering around downtown. I received warm hospitality and enjoyed myself.

Found the books that really interest me. Really neat and interesting building. Positive vibes. I read sci-fi and science books and today I found a book Einsteins monsters. It is very interesting about black holes.

Tattered Cover on Colfax is a book nerd's dream incarnate. The selection is amazing, the shelf tags of staff recommendations and best-selling notations is delightful in a nostalgic-for-the-'90s way, while also being useful, just like they used to be. The place looks like it grew from some hippy book lover's stoner dreams: the layout doesn't make much sense, it looks like you should be able to get to the second story, but you can't; at least I didn't see how to. The shelf heights vary like they were purchased as they went on sale, and the carpet has to be vintage mid-'70s. It's bloody perfect.

The coolest most unique book stores I've ever been to! Awesome except for parking being a little small. Could have spent hours there!

Tattered books is an amazing place. Where else in the city of Denver can you go find a book selection the size of the library downtown. It is a peaceful place of refuge from the hustle of everyday. Staff is great, always willing to help and make your visit there even better. I could go on and on but I will leave it at this.... Well worth any time you have to go here.

I seriously love tattered cover. Originally went to the one by union station and it was a deciding factor in me moving to Denver. I was psyched to have one in my neighborhood when I moved to the blue bird district. I can come in here and spend like a few hours if I’m not careful. It’s my favorite spot. My little happy place.

This is a fantastic small chain. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. I may have to pay $1 more but it is worth it for the service.

An excellent standard for what book stores should be - diverse selection, spacious and inviting, and so much more. There's a category for everyone, from business literature to cookbooks, you'll be hard pressed not to find your next read of gift for yourself or a friend. Very quiet and inviting and so many different areas to relax and get a read in as well.

Amazing bookstore, easily my favorite Tattered Cover location in the Denver area. Their selection is amazing, featuring an abundance of books for both popular and more obscure interests. The staff here are knowledgeable about all sorts of topics and very helpful if you can't find something. They can special order books as well, and their catalog is huge. Overall, great place to spend some free time and indulge your mind for a little while.

The best bookstore I have ever visited 💕💕

A wonderful collection of books for all tastes and ages. The titles are arranged in easy to find sections. And if you cannot find a certain book the staff is always willing to help. Very friendly staff. It is a kid friendly place. There are places to sit and enjoy a book too.

I loved this bookstore! They had an excellent array of subjects and authors, for adults and children. The staff was friendly and helped me find the specific series I was looking for as well as made great recommendations for some new or popular selections. I will definitely be back again!

This is seriously the best book store I've ever been to. The way they have everything laid out was eye-catching, and they had so many good deals or special finds that I left with $100 worth of books. Definitely worth stopping there for any book lover. They also have really cool author events almost every day each month. I'll be sad when I have to leave Denver because I won't get to come to this bookstore anymore.

Got some great souvenirs for my visit! The store is full of expected and unique items. The staff was very helpful and kind. Had a discussion with the cashier about Les Mis. Overall veey pleasant experience.

It was a nice book store reminded me of the book stores in Minnesota... But for a bookstore in Colorado it had very little books on Colorado or even the book I was looking for. Besides that I enjoyed going there.
